Event Details
Brain KinetiX focuses on movement and mindfulness to make life easier for an individual or group. Brain Gym, yoga and neuro-developmental movement are utilized to develop connections in our brains for individuals of all ages and abilities. These exercises help enhance concentration, focus, memory, academics, test-taking, athletics, relationships, organizational skills and balance.
During Session 1, participants will explore, experience and discuss how to incorporate these mindful movements and strategies into the daily classroom routine. The later portion of this session, Joan will lead a 30 minute “Gentle Hatha Flow Yoga” class where participants will be able to integrate this new information along with more ideas to use in the classroom and everyday life.
Session 2 will be a follow-up session where participants will have a discussion regarding their experiences in the classroom. For example, what “shifts” have they noticed about the themselves and their students since the first session. What has worked and what are they currently struggling with.
We will dive deeper into these movements and conclude with the 30 minute “Gentle Hatha Flow Yoga” class. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and dress comfortable!
Incorporating mindful movements and strategies such as Brain Gym and yoga into the daily classroom routine helps our brain receptors make more connections for a calmer state of learning, playing and living! We now have a toolbox of techniques and strategies to pull from so we can respond rather than react. We become more self-aware and notice shifts within ourselves and others to reach our full potential for learning. These are life-long strategies for continued growth and success!
